Gender IQ ™ Certification

A Professional Development Program for Clinical Excellence

 Gender IQ™ Certification

The Gender IQ™ Certification offers healthcare professionals a comprehensive pathway beyond performative inclusivity toward authentic, transformative care. Grounded in the Gender IQ™ framework—Intentional, Intersectional, and Queer-Celebratory—this program equips clinicians to:

  • Provide genuinely affirming care for trans and gender-diverse (TGD) clients

  • Recognize and address cisnormative clinical patterns

  • Navigate complexity with nuance and confidence

  • Address missteps through repair rather than defensiveness

  • Cultivate authentic psychological safety—moving beyond terminology to embodied practice

This certification serves the needs of therapists, nurse practitioners, case managers, prescribers, students, and any healthcare professional committed to serving gender-diverse communities with excellence.

Centering Both Lived and Professional Expertise

I'm Jess Romeo (he/they)—a trans clinician, consultant, and architect of the Gender IQ™ framework. My background includes training thousands of healthcare providers nationwide in gender-literate, trauma-informed, and affirming practices.

Critically, I bring the perspective of having been the client in clinical settings where providers were nominally "welcoming" yet hesitant in practice. This certification addresses that gap—supporting you in becoming a clinician who translates good intentions into meaningful action.

Who Will Benefit

This program is designed for clinicians who have foundational knowledge but seek greater depth and confidence, including:

  • Mental health practitioners (therapists, counselors, social workers)
  • Medical providers (nurse practitioners, physicians, prescribers)
  • Case managers and trainees
  • Professionals in clinical-adjacent roles

If you've engaged with introductory resources yet still question your approach—wondering about language choices, affirming practices, or navigating complexity—this certification provides substantive answers.

The Gender IQ™ Approach

Rather than pursuing an unattainable ideal of "perfect allyship," this certification focuses on developing clinical presence that is:

Intentional in practice

Making conscious choices about language, positioning, and the use of clinical authority.

Intersectional in perspective

Recognizing gender as inseparable from race, class, disability, neurodivergence, and historical context—and practicing accordingly.

Queer-Celebratory in orientation

Moving beyond tolerance toward genuine appreciation for gender diversity as a valuable dimension of human experience.

You're already committed to this work. This certification provides the structure to sustain your practice with skill, nuance, and greater ease.

Become a Gender IQ™ Certified Clinician—an investment in your practice that benefits both your clients and your professional development.
